Every so often, I come across a speed limit that is absolutely out of place. I'll nominate the 30mph speed limit on the Southeast Freeway right here in DC, otherwise known as !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Note that this is an elevated highway cutting though DC, yet it has the same limit as the surface streets running along it. I will concede that it is a temporary limit due to construction, but I haven't seen a single worker on that piece of highway in at least two years now. Yet, the 30mph signs stand, proudly touting that fines are doubled as people whiz by at 55+.
So! Go right ahead and name some ridiculous speed limits!

That bridge is a mess in the morning. I always got off and took 11th street coming from the south on 295.

Yeah, but when have you ever been able to drive over 30mph during rush hour on 695? Or better yet WHEN MOTHERFUCKERS CUT YOU OFF TRYING TO GET ON 695 TOWARD 395!? Fuck 695.

There's a very small tunnel under an airport runway where I live. It is a 2 lane road through the tunnel and 1 lane on either side with mandatory right hand turns if you're in the right lane. There isn't that much traffic volume coming through there and the speed limit on either side of the tunnel is 50mph. You have to go from 50mph to 25 mph back to 50mph just for the tunnel. Stupid. You can comfortably do 40mph through there and if you want to hoon you can do 60.

Gardiner Expressway in Toronto, speed limit of 90 km/h, yet pieces of concrete literally fall off of it everyday. Not safe at all.

Yeah but NYC is crowded as fuck though, so 55 is absurdly high since you can't go faster than 15 due to traffic

Sometimes Detroit has its positives. I.E. all the expressways in the city are 55mph, but everyone still does 70-something because its not patrolled!

Lions Gate Bridge coming into Vancouver. Start at about 7:35
"We haven't seen a single person doing the speed limit" says the cop. What does that tell you?

Effin' DC is eat up with stoopid speed limits. Coming out of the 3rd St Tunnel southbound it's 45 with goddamned speed cameras. Ask me how I learned that....bastards.

NYC is a different story, I mean the LIE and the other Long Island/Bronx/Westchester freeways where people are routinely doing 80 and giving zero fucks. Moving with traffic means doing at least 15 over, but they'll never raise the limit to compensate because that sweet speeding ticket cash.

Ottawa/Gatineau Jalops will know it well. Quebec's Hwy 5, when returning to Ontario, goes from a 90 km/h limit to a 30 km/h turn. That's 18 mph, and slower than even the most desolate residential street. Most cars can do 60 km/h through the turn and not roll over and burst into flame.

I travel that street everyday...often at 2x the posted speed. The 30km/h speed limit is idiotic. It makes 0 sense. I won't say you should do 90 through there, but one can easily do 60 safely. I should know haha.
In addition to this Ottawa's truck route is the worst I have ever seen. It's like they made it deliberately hard. In fact someone died on it just this winter because a B train ran them owner. Why making large trucks turn several corners on busy streets downtown seemed like a good idea I'll never know.
